Baldur’s Gate 3 player shares rare Isobel cutscene you probably missed

Isobel in Baldur's Gate 3

The Cleric Isobel is one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s most popular characters, especially because of her connection to Ketheric Thorm and Dame Aylin. However, there is a cutscene that involves her that you might have missed.

You encounter Isobel for the first time in Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3, and at first, all she seems to be is a helpful Cleric who is looking to protect the people of Last Light Inn. As you continue further in the story, however, you discover that she is the daughter of Ketheric Thorm.

Ketheric Thorm is one of the Dead Three and the main antagonist of Act 2. You spend the entire Act trying to infiltrate Moonrise Towers to find out more about him, and possibly the most surprising detail is that he’s a father.

This obviously brings forward some emotional cutscenes, but some players discovered that there’s one a lot of others may have missed.

In a Reddit post titled “What is something the community at large doesn’t know yet?” a player commented about the secret cutscene. The cinematic is only triggered if you have certain prerequisites:

  1. The Tieflings from Emerald Grove must die
  2. Play along with Marcus’ plan to kidnap Isobel when you speak with him in Isobel’s room.
  3. When you meet Isobel, tell her of Marcus’ plans to kidnap her.
  4. Once this is done, you should get the cutscene after replying with “Is there something else I should know?”

Baldur’s Gate 3 players were delighted by the discovery, with one saying: “This game is so insane man, played through four times now never encountered this.”

When you trigger the cutscene, Isobel will tell you about her past, her father, and how he became the man he is today by making the wrong choices. She will also show you a picture of him when he was still, well, normal.

It is likely that a lot of players missed this cutscene because the prerequisites are a mix and match of ‘bad’ and ‘good’ choice playthroughs.
