Warzone Pacific’s Season 2 update brings some highly anticipated map changes to Caldera, with Rebirth Island receiving “substantial changes” via the Reloaded update. Here’s every map change arriving in Warzone Pacific Season 2.

Warzone’s Caldera map arrived with mixed reviews, with some preferring the bright, picturesque landscape, and others unimpressed with the POI distribution. Raven Software are continuing to evolve the map though, overhauling a location into a new POI and adding underground bunkers in the Season 2 update.

Here’s every map change arriving in Warzone Pacifc’s Caldera, as well as a look at the revamped Rebirth Island Reinforced.

Warzone Caldera map changes

Chemical Factory POI

Warzone players noticed that the refinery between Mines and Docks looked different on the minimap, and the devs teased that the location would be overhauled in Season 2. We now know exactly what that change is, with the refinery now becoming Chemical Factory.

The devs explained that it will have a similar layout to the previous location, but with “several notable differences.” There will be enemy soldiers protecting the facility, as well as “a trap that can be sprung in the central building.”

The devs said that players who loot Chemical Factory will “will walk away with more valuable loot on average,” so expect more Legendary Chests and Cash here.

We’ve marked Chemical Factory on Caldera’s map so you’ll know exactly where the new POI will be located.

Chemical Weapons Research Labs

There will also be new underground Chemical Weapons Research Labs appearing in Caldera, with seven to be discovered around the island.

The devs said that some players may have already found the lab locations, but they’ll be marked on the map with a yellow circle. Inside, you can find “phenomenal Loadout items, which may include Gas Masks and Nebula V Ammo.”

These seem to be high-risk, with the devs confirming that there’s only one way out. Make sure to get out before the gas closes, and watch out for players camping the exits.

Warzone Rebirth Island map changes

Rebirth Island has seen few changes since its arrival in December 2020, but Warzone’s devs have delivered a major revamp to the fan-favorite prison island with the Warzone Season 2 Reloaded update.

Stronghold

Stronghold POI Rebirth Island

Rebirth Island’s Security POI will turn into the Stronghold POI. As its name suggests the location is designed as somewhat of a fortress with very few paths to entering the deepest point.

The devs whished to improve on one of the least popular areas of Rebirth Island, “This POI was one of the least popular in the old Rebirth Island, so we wanted to breathe new fresh air into this area to bring players in a more engaging destination with other areas to fight for around the map”.

Stronghold will feature an “extended checkpoint gate, a new radar building, and a Redeploy Balloon” which is sure to make a popular landing spot following the update.

Docks

Players will now be able to visit two boats on either side of Rebirth Island that the devs added for conceptual purposes, “We had this island with no boat!” One of these boats will be located at a brand-new POI called Dock. This new area was once known as Shore but has now undergone a major revamp.

Of course, both of the boats will be full of prime loot so they’re sure to be highly contested areas. This will place a new focus on Rebirth Island’s shoreline as teams may view the boats as an ideal starting point.

Other Rebirth Island changes

Prison Courtyard Rebirth Island

Alongside these two new POIs, the Prison Courtyard has also received a makeover. In an attempt to make the area less of an instant death trap, the devs decided to add some cover by way of a fortified walkway.

You’ll notice less open space in that area which will increase survivability. Alongside the walkway, players will also benefit from a few green tents positioned between the walkway and the Prison.
