Safe in Fortnite

Fortnite’s safes are a great source of Gold Bars and XP that you can visit during a match, so we’ll cover where you can find their locations as well as how to open them.

When you hop into a game of Fortnite, you’ll need to search around the map for high-tier loot if you want to come out on top, including powerful weapons, shields, and Gold Bars that can be used to purchase items.

One way for you to obtain Gold Bars and some XP is to search through safes on the map. Additionally, a Weekly Quest in Chapter 5 Season 2 asks players to open safes and Rare chests. Some of these can be difficult to find since they’re well-hidden, so we’ve got you covered with all of their locations.

While safes can usually be found scattered all over the map in Fortnite, in Chapter 5 Season 2, players can only find them in Snooty Steppes.

How to open a safe in Fortnite

When you come across a safe in Fortnite, you just need to press and hold the interact button until it opens up. This could take a short while, as these safes have security protocols that will slowly be bypassed. If you’re playing in duos, trios, or squads, you can open safes faster with the help of your teammates.

One of the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Weekly Quests requires you to open five safes or Rare chests, and this handy guide should make completing it nice and easy.
