Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 Reloaded introduced a host of fresh playlists, including the new Bounty mode. Here’s how the Modern Warfare 2 Bounty mode works and when you can play it.

Following the success of the first major update, Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 Reloaded has also delivered even more enjoyable content to the game. The mid-season patch brought the debut of the powerful new Chimera Assault Rifle for players to try, as well as the return of the popular Shipment map.

It’s also added a selection of new game modes into the mix, and of the most interesting is called Bounty – a spin on the classic Team Deathmatch formula.

Here’s everything you need to know about Modern Warfare 2 Bounty mode, from what the rules are to when it arrived.

Modern Warfare 2 Bounty mode release date

Modern Warfare 2’s new Bounty mode is available in the game as of January 4, 2023.

Unfortunately, there is no official end date, and we’ll have to wait and see if the mode is here to stay. Make sure you hop on and experience the new mode for Season 1 Reloaded while you can, as Season 2 begins on February 1, 2023.

Modern Warfare 2 Bounty mode explained

Modern Warfare 2 Bounty mode functions in a similar way to the Team Deathmatch playlist we all know and love. Teams will once again be competing for points by racking up kills within the time limit – but with one key twist.

The player on each team who has amassed the most kills will be labeled as the High-Value Target, and eliminating them will score double points for your team. Much like in Warzone 2‘s Bounties, the HVT will be marked on the map so the enemy team can track their movements.

To keep things fair, though, the HVT will refresh after a certain amount of time to ensure the same player doesn’t have a target on their back for the entire game.

All in all, this sounds like a neat addition to Modern Warfare 2’s already large lineup of game modes.
