Warzone’s in-game text references the HUD quite often, but what does “HUD” mean exactly? We have everything you need to know about the Warzone HUD covered for you.

Like any first-person shooter, players will have to familiarize themselves with Warzone‘s verbiages. These are words or phrases that are used in-game via text or by players outside the game.

For example, Warzone throws around the terms ADS and Bullet Velocity, and new players may not know what they mean. Content creators and streamers will use words like hitscan, aimbot, and meta. All of these terms can confuse players who don’t know what they mean.

One term that Warzone uses frequently is HUD. There are a variety of HUD settings, and some game modes can drastically affect the HUD. Here is what Warzone is referring to when it uses the term HUD.

What is HUD in Warzone?

In Warzone, HUD is an acronym that stands for “Heads-Up Display.” It is a means to visually distribute vital information to players that wouldn’t be possible in real life.

To put it in simpler terms, the HUD is anything that isn’t a physical object in the game. The HUD can include the player’s health bar, minimap, player county, and reticle.

The HUD is almost completely removed in some game modes, such as Realism Battle Royale, to simulate a realistic experience. Unless you’re Tony Stark and have an Iron Man suit, the HUD in Warzone is unrealistic.

The image below shows what the HUD contains, and we’ve put red boxes around every item that Warzone considers its HUD.

So, if you’re playing Realism Battle Royale, the game will remove most of these HUD elements. Players won’t see their ammo count, minimap, reticle, or weapon info.

If you swap between Realism and normal BR modes, you’ll come to learn the importance of Warzone’s HUD. However, not knowing which bullet will be your last is part of the intensity of Realism modes.

That’s all you need to know about when it comes to the HUD in the Call of Duty battle royale game.
