Call of Duty: Warzone 2
Warzone’s RICOCHET anti-cheat bans 48,000 player accounts
The Warzone developers have been taking the issue of cheaters seriously and have banned 48,000 player accounts.
The Warzone developers have been paying attention to the problem of hackers ruining games, and they’ve taken action by banning 48,000 accounts accused of cheating.
One of the most prominent issues faced by Warzone players is the thread of cheaters and hackers who use bots to ruin the game. This is why Raven Software introduced the RICOCHET anti-cheat system.
Even in Caldera, the problem of cheaters still persists as some of them made hacked lobbies that instantly rank up weapons. Now, the devs have banned various accounts accused of cheating.
On December 23, the Call of Duty developers tweeted out that 48,000 “cheater accounts” have been banned in both Warzone and Vanguard. They credited the RICOCHET system for this accomplishment.
This Anti-Cheat measure now features a PC kernel-level driver that arrived after Warzone Pacific’s December 15 update. This will also be released on Vanguard to come at a later date.
Accoring to the official description, the kernel-level driver will “assist in the identification of cheaters, reinforcing and strengthening the overall server security.” This will ensure a safer Warzone experience.
While it’s currently only available on PC, the developers stated that console players who have crossplay enabled will benefit by extension. So, players across all platforms will be less likely to have their game ruined by cheaters.
You’ll need to have the kernel-level installed in order to play Call of Duty: Warzone on your PC. However, the developers have claimed that it will be active while you play the game and will deactivate after you exit.
Hopefully, these measures will result in a much safer playing experience for both Warzone and Vanguard players. While the problem of cheaters can’t be eliminated altogether, this should make things a bit better.
