Warzone’s planes get secret buff that makes them even more OP

Planes are one of Warzone Pacific Caldera’s most powerful tools, but these planes have received a secret buff that’s made them even more overpowered.

While planes are only available in Warzone’s Vanguard Royale modes, players have been calling for nerfs as they have “literal aimbot.” Almost every player is highlighted red, and the plane’s guns will lock onto anyone unfortunate enough to get in their way.

But rather than nerfing the planes in the January 20 update, Raven Software appear to have given the planes a secret buff that has only made them more deadly.

While planes have been called overpowered for being able to shoot players out of the sky and take out anyone caught in the open, they’ve always missed one key feature – being able to ‘thirst’ downed players in squad matches.

The plane’s strong aim assist wouldn’t register these down-but-not-out players on the ground and your shots wouldn’t connect, making it almost impossible to finish off your knocks.

However, as discovered by Warzone pro and real-life Air Force pilot IceManIsaac, Vanguard Royale’s planes can now both knock and finish off opponents with ease.

In a Warzone clip uploaded on January 22, Isaac uses the plane as intended to knock a player down below. However, the red highlight stayed on the enemy and he was able to finish them off. Surprised by the plane’s newfound ability, Isaac yelled: “Wait, you can thirst?”

Planes being able to finish off players hasn’t been included in any of the Warzone patch notes, so there’s no way of knowing whether the change was intentional.

Players were both surprised and disappointed by the plane’s powerful new feature, with another content creator Expel sarcastically saying “Thank god they fixed that.”

One player said “no way they buffed the plane lmao,” and another simply said “oh no.”

Whether the plane’s buff is a common ability or a one-off glitch remains to be seen, but it seems that you should keep an eye on the sky while navigating Caldera.
