Warzone’s Double Barrel Shotguns are deadlier than ever after Season 2 Reloaded buff

It might be time for Warzone players to get reacquainted with the infamous Double Barrel Shotgun as the Season 2 Reloaded update buffed the weapon and made it viable once more.

Back in Season 1 of Warzone Pacific, Akimbo Double Barrel Shotguns sent the weapon meta into a frenzy due to their incredible range and power. Warzone players demanded a fix for the overpowered weapon, and the devs answered their calls.

Interestingly enough, it took multiple nerfs to properly balance the weapon which is an indication of just how broken it was in its prime.

After the nerfs, the Double Barrel Shotgun disappeared, but it seems like it has finally returned following a significant buff via the Season 2 Reloaded update.

Players were furious with the previous iteration of this Shotgun as there was simply no answer to their dominance. After it got nerfed, the weapon completely disappeared which could be why the devs have attempted to tweak it once more.

The thought behind this change is that a buff could make it usable again without being overpowered. However, it seems like the dominant Akimbo Double Barrel Shotguns are back to torment players, especially on the revamped Rebirth Island.

  • Muzzle: M97 Choke
  • Barrel: Sawed-Off
  • Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
  • Underbarrel: Blocked by Akimbo perk
  • Stock: Removed Stock
  • Magazine: None
  • Ammunition: Buck and Slug
  • Rear Grip: Pine Tar Grip
  • Perk 1: Akimbo
  • Perk 2: Quick

The Season 2 Reloaded update provided a 10% increase in Double Barrel Shotgun damage. Thankfully, the previously problematic range wasn’t altered but this increase in damage was enough to make it two-tap once again.

With the ideal attachments above courtesy of TimTheTatMan, players can fully down an enemy with two taps of the Shotguns from a reasonable distance, “It’s two-shotting again, literally.” Players with a decent trigger finger will certainly make use of this weapon around Rebirth Island’s tight spaces.

It remains to be seen if this Shotgun will take over the meta once more but early indications prove that it may not reach past heights, which is sure to comfort plenty of Warzone players.
