Warzone YouTuber and stats expert TrueGameData has revealed that the PPSH-41 SMG is statistically better than the much more popular MAC-10, which means it could become a surprise meta weapon.

Although a classic Call of Duty weapon, the PPSH-41 didn’t make much of a splash in Warzone when it arrived in Season 3. With Season 6 on the horizon, the PPSH still isn’t considered meta, but that could change thanks to new data.

TrueGameData has created a comprehensive website that compares almost every aspect of Warzone’s weapons. With the data found on this website, he has revealed that the PPSH-41’s stats slightly edge out the MAC-10’s which could make it the better weapon overall.

PPSH-41 in Call of Duty Warzone

Although the MAC-10 has long been one of Warzone’s most popular SMGs and the PPSH-41 only has a 2% pick rate, YouTuber TrueGameData believes that “a lot of people would prefer the PPSH if they just tried it out.”

He explains that the weapons are almost identical in terms of movement, fire rate, and recoil (although the MAC-10 slightly edges it out in the latter two categories). However, the PPSH has a few stats that make it the better choice overall.

For time-to-kill (TTK), the PPSH is slightly better than the MAC-10. They’re roughly the same at close-range, but the PPSH has more range, which gives it the edge.

Another interesting stat, the Damage Per Mag, is where the PPSH truly shines against the MAC-10. It can hold a 71 Rnd Drum Mag, which makes it a great choice for taking on squads, and allows it to “put out dramatically more Damage Per Mag.”

He explains that the PPSH-41 can down and finish two enemies in one mag, but you’ll likely need to run Throwing Knives to finish your kills with the MAC-10.

One factor that could make players prefer the MAC-10 is the recoil. The MAC’s higher fire rate gives it less visual recoil, but TrueGameData believes that the difference isn’t so huge that it gives one a clear edge.

Overall though, he concluded that while the MAC does have some better qualities such as Sprint to Fire Time, he believes the PPSH is better and “way, way underused right now.”

TrueGameData’s best PPSH-41 loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Optic: Microflex LED
  • Underbarrel: Patrol Grip
  • Magazine: Spetsnaz 71 Rnd Drum

This loadout gives the PPSH-41 the edge over the MAC-10, and is highly recommended by Warzone statistician TrueGameData.
