Warzone Sai melee weapon reportedly gives “permanent Dead Silence”
There have been reports that Warzone’s Sai melee weapon makes your footsteps completely silent, but there’s debate on whether the glitch is only for the user.
Warzone players have long complained about audio being an issue. Popular streamer Dr Disrespect almost reached breaking point because of it in Season 3, and a banned Bullfrog Blueprint completely breaks the game audio. Now, it appears the Sai melee weapon is causing issues.
Although players have slammed Warzone’s The Numbers event for being too easy, it has allowed the new Sai melee weapon to be unlocked quickly. However, there appears to be a glitch with the new weapon as players are reporting that it gives “permanent Dead Silence.”
Reddit user evsorr shared the odd glitch where they’re running around with Sais, but no footstep audio could be heard, similar to if they had popped Dead Silence. As evidence that it is indeed a glitch, their slide canceling could be heard. There were no players around to test it out on though.
Players in the comments debated the significance of this, with some saying that the footsteps are only silent for the player, but others believe that it does indeed grant permanent Dead Silence.
One player said that they were “being chased out in the open near superstore and the dude was 15m behind me for at least 20 seconds per the kill cam. Didn’t hear a single thing…” And another confirmed the same issue. However, with Warzone’s various audio bugs, there’s no guarantee that the Sai caused the issue.
Another user explained that after testing, they’re “99.9% sure it’s just bugged in first person,” and “others can hear normal footsteps.”
Whether it acts as Dead Silence or not, this does give the Sai user a distinct advantage. Not being able to hear your own footsteps will make it all the easier to pinpoint any enemies moving around nearby.
