Warzone’s latest game mode, Payload, has officially launched as the battle royale’s first team-based objective mode, but there are some things that players aren’t too happy with.

Warzone Season 4 Reloaded has revitalized the game with a new patch adding some weapons like the OTs 9 and even various weapon buffs and nerfs to keep the game fresh.

As well as this, Season 4 Reloaded has also seen a new team-based game mode called Payload, which some players have already found some issues with.

Introduced on July 22 as a new way to play Warzone, the new mode features a similar format to the Payload objective in Overwatch.

For those who are not familiar, the mode requires two teams, one attacking and one defending. In Warzone’s case, there is a total of 40 players in the match, 20 per team.

The attacking team must escourt a vehicle towards a final location, while the defending team will try their best to stop them through constructing obstacles and taking out enemies.

Although this sounds great to some, there are glaring issues with the mode players would like addressed, especially as the mode is a great break from battle royale and a good mode for leveling up your weapons, especially as players can respawn on death.

Reddit user surazalazarus brought the issue upon a post entitled “the new Payload game mode is terrible,” a fairly radical opinion, so what’s the issue?

Essentially, the issue is that players are unable to mute squad members. With teams of 20, that can be quite frustrating as you can end up being distracting and bombarded with players communicating.

Further, the more glaring issue is that there is no in-match joining, which means one team could be left at a severe disadvantage if players start leaving the game.

This is an issue that Raven Software will most likely try and fix soon, as the new mode does offer a fun new way to play the game, with even surazalazarus saying it’s an “interesting idea” regardless of the previous comment calling it “terrible.”

Clearly, there is something here for Payload in Warzone, so hopefully, the developers can tune these issues and make the quality of life better for this specific mode so that players can enjoy it while it is in the game.
