Warzone Pacific players call for changes to “lazy” Season 5 meta
Warzone Pacific Season 5 brought significant changes to the game’s weapons, and players are calling for the developers to fix the new “lazy” meta.
The Season 5 update shook up the meta in Warzone Pacific by adding brand-new weapons such as the RA 225 SMG and bringing significant balancing changes to numerous existing guns.
As a result of these changes, weapons like the PPSh-41 and UGM-8 have become more viable picks in the new season. However, some in the Warzone community aren’t fond of the new meta.
Reddit user ‘BarryAllen94’ expressed their frustration with these changes in Warzone Pacific subreddit and described the Season 5 meta as “lazy.” They explained that this is because the new meta weapons are too easy to control now.
The Redditor stated: “With the PPSh, you don’t ever have to ADS, and both that and the UGM-8 don’t need any holding down or anything to control whatsoever. It just stands there like it didn’t just shoot 125 rounds.”
The PPSh-41 had its hip fire penalty reduced and its damage range increased in the Season 5 update. As a result, the weapon is able to accurately beam enemies in medium-range combat.
Now, the weapon is so effective that it has become a popular choice for content creators like FaZe Booya. However, some players feel that the weapon is too powerful and extremely difficult to counter.
One commenter described the PPSh as “broken,” and explained that they can’t react when they encounter an enemy using this weapon. Other players advised them to try out the Type 100 in order to counter this weapon.
While players in this thread have criticized the Season 5 meta, a few feel that it’s an improvement over what came before. One user claimed that it was “way worse” back in Season 4.
They explained that the PPSh meta was “insane” in that season and this was because no other SMG was viable at the time. While PPSh is top tier in Season 5, a few other weapons can compete against it.
