Warzone expert reveals SMG loadout that could surpass Owen Gun in Season 3 Reloaded
A dominant SMG is emerging as a top close-range option in Season 3 Reloaded, and a Warzone expert proves that it has what it takes to surpass the Owen Gun.
Despite the various buffs and nerfs to weapons following the Season 3 Reloaded update, the close-range meta hasn’t truly undergone many changes. For months the Owen Gun, Welgun, Armaguerra 43, and now H4 Blixen have been the top options for close-range Warzone gunfights.
Vanguard SMGs are certainly proving powerful following the latest major update, but a Warzone expert points out that one weapon is flying under the radar as a close-range option that could surpass each of the aforementioned guns.
Vanguard’s Type 100 has never claimed the top SMG spot in Warzone Pacific, as it spent time in the MP40’s shadow before the rise of the Owen Gun. However, Warzone expert Metaphor proves that the Type 100 may just be the best option available in Season 3 Reloaded.
Metaphor used a Type 100 loadout to break the Solos world record by claiming a 46 kill victory. The expert believes that the Type 100 feels similar to the Owen Gun, but it has the benefit of being an easier weapon to wield, “this kind of just feels like the Owen Gun, but it’s a lot more manageable.”
The fact that the Type 100 can match the Owen Gun’s power, but is also easier to use means that it’s a great option for players of all skill levels.

Metaphor claims that one of the most appealing aspects of the Type 100 is the ability to create several viable builds. This particular loadout is meant to maximize strafe speed, which is why we see the SG98 Compact and Grooved Grip.
If you prefer to focus on recoil control you can always swap these two for the Mark VI Skeletal and Polymer Grip.
According to Metaphor, the Warubachi 134mm Rapid barrel is the key piece of the puzzle as it makes the Type 100 devastating in close quarters combat.
If you’ve felt like there’s too much of a skill gap required to bring out the full potential of the Owen Gun, you definitely should give the Type 100 a try as it just might take the top SMG spot before the Season 4 update comes around.
