Warzone 2 players are finally set to receive one-shot Sniper Rifles, but here’s what the devs had to say about the addition of the highly requested mechanic.

A host of changes have made their way to Warzone 2 with the Season 2 update on February 15. Players will be busy testing out the new Season 2 weapons on the Ashika Island map, but there’s a key piece of information they won’t want to overlook.

Since the very start of Warzone 2, not a single Sniper Rifle in the battle royale has the ability to produce a one-shot kill. The major nerf to Sniper Rifles is a noted change in direction from the damage they were able to produce in the original Warzone title.

Players have been pleading with the devs to add a one-shot kill Sniper Rifle and it seems like they may get their wish in Season 2.

Warzone 2 one-shot Sniper Rifle playlist

Warzone 2 players will have a chance to test their accuracy in this upcoming playlist.

In a call with CharlieIntel, the devs revealed that one-shot Sniper Rifles will finally make an appearance in Warzone 2. However, the major catch is that the mechanic will be added to Warzone 2 by way of a new playlist.

There’s no word yet on what the playlist will be called, but this new addition will grant Warzone 2 Sniper Rifles the ability to one-shot kill players. While details are still scarce, this will presumably require a clean shot to the enemy’s head.

The devs stated that this new Warzone 2 playlist featuring the one-shot kill mechanic for Snipers will debut later in Season 2. Again, take this information with a grain of salt, but when in-season changes are mentioned, this usually refers to the mid-season update.

While a one-shot Sniper Rifle playlist sounds like a limited-time addition, this could be a great way to test the feature before possibly bringing it over to Warzone 2 permanently. Although, they did state that they are not currently planning to activate that feature for all modes.

We’ll be sure to provide more details once we know more about the Warzone 2 playlist. However, if one-shot kill potential is added to all of Warzone 2’s Sniper Rifles, then the weapons with quick movement speed like the SP-X 80 and LA-B 330 are set to be popular options.
