Warzone 2’s AI enemies have been slammed by players for being too difficult to battle, and the announcement that Season 2 will feature a new AI opponent isn’t sitting well with the community.

There is a ton of anticipation for the arrival of the Season 2 update which will bring a plethora of changes to Warzone 2, including the Ashika Island map and some significant looting changes.

The update will also introduce a new type of AI enemy that players will have to battle after hopping into the game. However, the decision to add this new enemy is being criticized by Warzone 2 players.

So far, AI combatants in Warzone 2 would mainly dish out damage from a distance. However, Season 2 will add an enemy known as The Rusher who wields a deadly short sword to dish out melee damage. He has a pistol and mini smoke bombs to use during battles.

Warzone 2 players have previously complained about how frustratingly difficult AI enemies can be to battle, and Reddit user ‘Whole_Carob3178’ highlighted this new addition in the Warzone 2 subreddit.

In this Reddit thread, numerous Warzone 2 players slammed the decision to add the enemy, with one player claiming that there is “absolutely nothing skillful or even satisfying about killing AI in a multiplayer FPS.”

Another user stated: “The most annoying type of player in traditional multiplayer now has an AI version that will never misclick the melee button.” One comment described this addition as a “braindead game mechanic.”

Many players made it clear that they are not happy with the inclusion of AI in any of Warzone 2’s game modes. On Twitter, Modern Warzone also slammed the decision to add a melee-based AI to Warzone 2 that uses mini smoke bombs.

In the replies, one user tweeted: “The devs just don’t get it, man. How many times do we have to tell them we don’t want AI in the game.” Another user claimed that this new enemy’s addition is “killing the game.”

At the time of writing, it remains to be seen if players will change their minds about The Rusher after Warzone 2 Season 2 finally goes live.
