Warzone 2 players claim “endless” AI are making DMZ impossible

DMZ mode has been a welcome change of pace from the regular Warzone 2 battle royale action, but it appears that the challenging AI are spoiling the experience for many players.

Warzone 2‘s DMZ mode was one of the most exciting new additions when the sequel launched back in November, as the devs looked to capture what made extraction shooters like Escape from Tarkov so popular.

Even after the recent progress wipe, DMZ has retained a healthy playerbase as fans continue to track down loot and collect keys all around the Al Mazrah map.

However, following the launch of Warzone 2 Season 2, DMZ players have called out the AI found in the mode, arguing they’re too difficult to tackle.

Reddit user ‘Punelle’ posted claiming that “DMZ is not fun anymore” because of the bots found around the map, and the problem got “even worse” after the Season 2 update.

“I used to play DMZ with my friends on a daily basis since release and we looked forward to the new season where they would change the A.I,” said the OP. “I just waited for them to fix the A.I. spawn/difficulty/spotting range but I can’t see anything that indicates that the company believes it’s even a problem.”

Other players in the replies seemed to agree that the bots in Warzone 2 DMZ are becoming too difficult, with some able to sponge multiple headshots from Sniper Rifles without dying.

Some DMZ players also argued that it’s not just the difficulty of the AI that is causing problems, but also how many attack at once.

“DMZ was a chill space for when BR got a little too much but my god the endless wave after wave of AI is a bit much. Once you’re out of plates it’s pretty much game over,” said one user. “The last match we played, we had over 200 AI kills without leaving our spawn near quarry lol.”

Another described how tough it is playing DMZ as a solo player, saying it’s “pretty much impossible to complete a contract – you simply don’t have enough ammo or plates to fight the endless waves of AI.”

AI enemies have become a major part of the Warzone 2 experience in all modes, as battle royale is littered with Strongholds to deal with and Season 2’s new Search & Seizure contract brought bots to Ashika Island as well.

So far, the devs have seemed fairly committed to the idea of AI in Warzone 2, but DMZ players will be hoping they scale things back in the Season 2 Reloaded update.
