With Warzone 2 Season 2 right around the corner, players are reporting that hackers are plaguing lobbies once again and making the game “miserable.”

Cheaters are a recurring issue in all online shooters, and Warzone 2 is no exception. Despite the battle royale sequel launching with RICOCHET anti-cheat, hackers have still managed to ruin matches in a number of different ways.

From glitching inside walls for easy kills to knifing players from the other side of the map, there are seemingly no lengths that cheaters won’t go through to secure the win.

Now, with the Warzone 2 Season 2 just days away, players are reporting that the number of hackers is on the rise again. The conversation was kickstarted by Reddit user ‘youssef_labiadh,’ who wanted to know if they had been killed by a player using an aimbot, after being lasered while driving a vehicle.

Many Warzone 2 fans replied, agreeing that it was a hacker they had run into and claiming that they had also fallen victim to more suspicious deaths than usual in the past few days.

‘Far_Amphibian’ said: “Cheaters are running rampant again. The last two days have been miserable. Dying to cheaters left and right. I have no idea what’s going on but I’ve put my controller down after 3 matches each night because it [was] so blatant.”

“My friend and I have been dying to people using this aimbot fairly often the past few days,” agreed another player. “[It’s] becoming a big issue.”

Others responded claiming that while they haven’t run into hackers themselves while playing Warzone 2, they have noticed an increase in the number of clips surfacing on social media that feature players using cheats. One player even noted they were “all over” their TikTok feed.

While it’s virtually impossible to permanently stop hackers from using exploits, for the most part, RICOCHET has done a good job of keeping the issue at bay in Warzone 2. But the community is clearly concerned about how frequent the problem is becoming again.

Hopefully, this isn’t the start of a trend that will see Warzone 2 become plagued by cheaters as severely as its predecessor.
