A Warzone 2 expert has revealed their Icarus 556 loadout which they are claiming is now the best LMG class set up to use in the battle royale.

Warzone 2’s most popular weapons have been pretty stagnant since launch, with players becoming tired of the RPK and Fennec dominance.

With the Season 2 update on the horizon, players are ready for some balance changes, but one Warzone 2 expert believes that an LMG is being overlooked in Season 1 Reloaded, and is actually very “competitive.”

Metaphor may have found the next LMG craze, as they claim that the 556 Icarus doesn’t get enough love, especially when you build the weapon with the correct attachments. The Warzone 2 expert states that the LMG is great from all ranges thanks to having “no recoil,” essentially acting as a “better M4.”

  • Muzzle: Komodo Heavy
  • Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
  • Stock: Corio Precio Factory
  • Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip

Metaphor claims this build for the 556 Icarus feels “insanely good,” as it’s built for versatility, being great at close, mid, and long ranges.

The Warzone 2 expert claims that this build has Solos in mind, as you can “pick your fights” more easily. In squad-based game modes, you’ll be taking on more long-ranged fights and that’s not really where this build shines, despite being able to hold its own at range.

Metaphor does pair this Icarus 556 loadout with the Fennec 45, as the LMG / SMG combination remains extremely strong in Warzone 2. Unfortunately, the RPK has been shadowing the other LMGs in the game, but if you’re looking for something new to try out, Metaphor feels that players won’t “feel behind” using the 556 Icarus, despite it being considered “off-meta.”
