The Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 update is bringing plenty of fresh content to players on both sides of the fence. Multiplayer fans have new 6v6 maps to get stuck into, while battle royale players are celebrating the return of one-shot Sniper Rifles.
Warzone 2 DMZ is also receiving numerous changes in Season 3, as the devs look to build on their Tarkov-inspired mode over time. One of the new additions is the Skeleton Key, a useful item that should make players’ time in Al Mazrah much more straightforward.

What are Warzone 2 Skeleton Keys in DMZ?
As the name suggests, Skeleton Keys allow players to open any locked door in DMZ on either Al Mazrah or Ashika Island. Operators would normally have to hunt down a specific Keycard or Key to access certain areas, so the Skeleton Key is a real-time saver.
The only exception is that the Skeleton Key cannot be used as a Building 21 Access Key, so these items will need to be looted as normal. However, once inside Building 21, the Skeleton Key can crack open doors that would usually need a Keycard or Key.
Use your Skeleton Key wisely though, as they will be removed from your inventory after a single use.
Skeleton Keys make accessing areas of the DMZ map much easier than before. How to get a Skeleton Key in Warzone 2 DMZ
The devs have confirmed that Skeleton Keys can only be obtained through a “unique Barter system recipe.” The Barter system is another new addition in Warzone 2 Season 3, allowing players to swap loot for valuable items at Buy Stations.
It sounds like those looking to get hold of a Skeleton Key will need to exchange a specific combination of items, but it hasn’t been confirmed exactly what players will need.
