Vanguard PC players have been suffering from the demon gun glitch that causes warped textures to cover the map, and the developers have revealed how to fix it.

Both Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard have suffered from the ‘demon gun glitch,’ where weapons, players, and objects around the map are covered in a warped mess of broken textures. This can completely cover areas of the map, making it impossible to see.

The latest NVIDIA graphics drivers caused the problem in Vanguard, and the PC version’s devs, Beenox, have now revealed how to get rid of the demon gun glitch for good.

The demon gun glitch was originally caused by installing the NVIDIA Driver 511.23, and Vanguard’s devs recommended players roll back their drivers to at least 472.84. However, the issue has now been fixed, and you can download a new hotfix to have the latest drivers without visual issues.

Here’s how to get rid of Vanguard’s game-breaking demon gun glitch:

  1. Update your graphics drivers:
    1. Download GeForce experience through NVIDIA.com
    2. Open GeForce experience
    3. Select the ‘Drivers’ tab
    4. Click ‘check for updates’ in the upper right corner
    5. If an update is available, follow the steps
  2. Install the 511.72 hotfix
  3. Launch Call of Duty: Vanguard

Multiplayer and Zombies should no longer be full of the horrifying textures covering the map, so you can get back to playing Vanguard as normal.

This comes at a great time as February is shaping up to be a huge month for Vanguard. The Season 2 update arrives on February 14, which is expected to bring new weapons, maps, more Zombies content, and the Ground War mode has been leaked for it.

Plus, Ranked Play is confirmed to arrive in February, perhaps with the Season 2 update but we’ll need to wait for more details from Sledgehammer and Treyarch.
