Valkyrie’s ultimate is broken against Gibraltar in Apex Legends
Valkyrie has been gaining popularity after her arrival in Apex Legends Season 9, but players have discovered that her ultimate ability doesn’t work against Gibraltar due to his massive size.
While the Apex Legends Legacy update brought plenty of impressive content like the 3v3 Arenas mode and new weapons, the real standout has been the new Legend Valkyrie who can soar over her opponents with her VTOL Jetpack.
Valkyrie’s Skyward Dive ultimate ability lets her lift other Legends into the air, but a few players have found that this isn’t particularly effective against Gibraltar, who seems to be too heavy for liftoff.
Reddit user “Roku-_-” posted a clip of this irritating bug in the Apex Legends subreddit. They attempted to lift Gibraltar with Valkyrie’s ultimate ability, but this resulted in him falling and vanishing under the map.
Valkyrie’s ultimate is a useful way to get yourself away from attacking enemies, as well as to reach a better vantage point during battle. However, this bug is causing quite a few problems for players that want team compositions with these two Legends.
The comments are filled with people poking fun at this hilarious bug. “Gibby got third partied by gravity,” wrote one amused user.
While Gibraltar is the largest Legend in the battle royale, that doesn’t mean that his hitbox should keep Valkyrie’s ultimate from lifting him up into the air properly.
It’s not clear whether or not Respawn plan to address this bug in the near future, but we do know that they tend to listen to fan complaints, so we might it see it fixed soon enough.
The developers recently nerfed Valkyrie after a few players took advantage of her ability to fly extended distances. We’ll keep checking for more updates regarding this new bug, and will let you know if there are any new developments.
