XDefiant will officially have a ranked mode, and it’s being tested in the closed beta. Here’s everything you need to know about XDefiant’s ranked mode, including the game modes, ranks, and release date.

XDefiant is making waves in the FPS community with its closed beta, allowing players to get familiar with the weapons, Factions, maps, and modes before Ubisoft reveal an official release date for the future free-to-play shooter.

The closed beta has been a great success so far, but things are heating up as the devs have decided to release the XDefiant Ranked mode towards the end of this closed beta period, which ends on April 23.

Here’s everything you need to know about XDefiant Ranked Play, including the release date and time, modes, and more.

XDefiant Ranked Play release date & time

XDefiant’s Ranked mode will be released on April 20, 2023, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT.

This gives players three days to grind XDefiant’s Ranked Play mode until the closed beta ends on April 23. During this period, Ranked Play will be the only mode available in the closed beta, as the casual “Play” option will be locked.

The XDefiant Ranked Play featured in the closed beta is “an early pre-alpha version” of the competitive mode, so keep that in mind while playing.

XDefiant Ranked Play maps & modes

According to Ubisoft Executive Producer Mark Rubin, XDefiant’s Ranked Play will feature the “ranked version of the same modes” players have been experiencing in the closed beta, and it will be exclusively “solo queue only for now.”

Each of the modes will be tweaked to fit a more competitive experience. Occupy will feature a “set pattern of points,” Domination will have a “half-time and side switch,” and both Escort and Zone Control will have teams playing both “Offence and Defense.”

We are yet to receive confirmation, but as for the maps, we expect to see all 14 of the maps that have been present in the closed beta:

  • Arena
  • Attica Heights
  • Dumbo
  • Echelon HQ
  • Emporium
  • Liberty
  • Mayday
  • Meltdown
  • Midway
  • Nudleplex
  • Pueblito
  • Showtime
  • Times Square
  • Zoo

If any new information comes out regarding the Ranked Play maps, we’ll be sure to update this section.

XDefiant Ranked Play ranks

We don’t yet know what the ranks will look like for the XDefiant Ranked Play closed beta, but Mark Rubin has made it clear that the rank icons and tier names are “all temp,” meaning they could change prior to the game’s full release.

Further, the “RP formula,” or way in which players will be ranking up, “hasn’t been tested on a large scale,” so don’t expect a well-polished system just yet, as there will likely be many tweaks to Ranked Play prior to full release.

When the Ranked Play goes live, we’ll update this section with the relevant information.
