Fans of the franchise will be delighted to learn that Shiny overworld Pokemon will feature in Scarlet & Violet.

Catching a Shiny Pokemon remains one of the most exhilarating experiences for fans of the franchise. Since Shiny Pokemon were introduced in generation 2 games Gold and Silver, fans have been obsessed with catching these alternate sprites.

While Shiny Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet are expected to remain as elusive as ever, a highly desired feature should make things easier for players.

Pokemon fan site Serebii were lucky enough to play the game early and their preview suggests that Scarlet & Violet succeed in being “the most ambitious Pokemon game.”

While certain new features will likely remain behind closed doors until both games launch on November 18, Serebii did reveal a vital detail concerning Shiny Pokemon.

Serebii confirmed that Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will feature Shiny Pokemon in the overworld: “Continuing on from Let’s Go and Legends: Arceus, Shiny Pokémon are fully visible on the overworld, which is a marked improvement over Sword & Shield.”

During their preview of Scarlet and Violet, Serebii encountered a shiny Skiddo while climbing up a cliffside. The Pokemon appeared in the overworld and the trainer was able to spot that it was a shiny before engaging in a battle.

This is fantastic news for casual players whose hearts will surely skip a beat when a Shiny Pokemon appears in the Scarlet & Violet overworld. The dedicated community of shiny hunters will also view this as welcome news.

These players will no longer have to start up battle after battle in the wild when searching for shinies, which will no doubt save them countless hours.
