Rockstar employee leaks “unannounced titles” as GTA 6 rumors swirl
Grand Theft Auto’s rabid fanbase has discovered more clues hinting towards GTA 6, after spotting some interesting activity revolving around “unannounced titles” on a Rockstar employee’s LinkedIn page.
Despite GTA 5 being released over seven years ago, we’ve yet to have any confirmation from Rockstar Games about the existence of its sequel.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped fans of the Grand Theft Auto franchise from searching and theorizing about possible announcements. A popular theory among the community is the idea that we could see the official reveal for the game during Super Bowl 55 on February 7, although that remains a rumor.
The latest clue in their search for information comes from the LinkedIn page of Rockstar Leeds Senior Designer Ian Gander. According to his profile, during his 10-year spell at the company, he’s worked on both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
His profile says that in the past he has worked on the “design and implementation of various missions and gameplay features,” on both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, which means he likely had a hand in the story modes we’ve enjoyed in both games.
What’s extremely interesting about his profile though is what is written underneath, which states he’s worked on “unannounced titles” where are “TBC,” or “to be confirmed.”
Unsurprisingly, this sent fans into a frenzy of speculation, with many believing it could mean GTA 6, while others suggest that it points to Rockstar working on other titles too, such as the long-rumoured Bully sequel.
The fact that it mentions “titles” seems to indicate that Rockstar are working on multiple games at once, which would be surprising considering how long fans of the developers usually have to wait for new titles.
While it’s possible that they could be linked to new IPs, GTA 6 and Bully 2 do seem the most likely candidates for new titles, with Grand Theft Auto standing as one of the most popular franchises in gaming, while Bully hasn’t received a sequel despite releasing in 2006.
Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long for official news of what Rockstar is working on, although whether we actually see an official GTA 6 confirmation during Super Bowl 55 on February 7 remains to be seen.
