R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow glitched and won’t unlock in Cold War Season 2
Black Ops Cold War’s new R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow seems to be glitched at the moment with multiple players reporting that the gun won’t become available for them, despite meeting the unlock requirements in Season 2.
Announced as an eventual Season 2 addition, CoD’s newest Crossbow has had players desperate to get their hands on this fascinating new weapon. After initially teasing Call of Duty fans with an early release, the powerful crossbow is well and truly here.
At least, for some players it is. Despite honoring the unlock requirements to earn their own Shadowhunter Crossbow, lots of players are being denied access to it.
The Crossbow is an alluring weapon because of the devastating power it possesses. As long as you’re accurate, you’re pretty much going to kill an enemy in one well-placed shot. It lacks the fire rate of an SMG, and the overall solidarity of an AR, but its characteristics put it in a league of its own.
This is one of the main reasons that the weapon is considered to be so desirable. This is why its current glitched state is frustrating players.
To unlock the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow, players need to “get 3 One Shot, One Kill medals in 15 different matches.” However, despite doing this, Reddit user Sagerik hasn’t been rewarded with the weapon, despite his screen showing its completion.
There have been issues previously with new weapons not unlocking, but that was because when someone did the challenge in one of the 15 matches, they would leave. But it seems that isn’t the case here as Sagerik hasn’t left any matches, and several other players haven’t either.
Mersacci said, “Tired of hearing people say ‘did you leave any games’. No I didn’t, I’ve played 20/15 with 3 one shots and still don’t have it.”
Lobeline also joined in on the conversation saying, “It’s a new bug. It’s not the dropping issue.”
At this point, it’s uncertain what is causing the issue, but it certainly does seem to be a mysterious new problem that is making the R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow a rare commodity in Black Ops Cold War Season 2.
