Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid Battle event features two Paradox Pokemon, one for each version of the game. Here are the Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid dates and tips to beat them.

As it was announced during the Pokemon Day stream, Paradox Pokemon Walking Wake and Iron Leaves headline the new Tera Raid Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Players have been able to defeat and catch many other unique Pokemon since Scarlet and Violet’s launch.

While these are not 7-Star Tera Raid Battles, facing a Legendary Pokemon can be a tough challenge for a lot of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players. We’ll cover everything you need to know about the Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid event, including dates and the best counters for a quick victory.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Walking Wake & Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battle dates

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can tackle the Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battles from February 27 to March 12 at 15:59 PT / 18:59 ET / 23:59 GMT.

Pokemon Scarlet players will be able to face Walking Wake, while Violet players get a chance to catch Iron Leaves.

How to beat Walking Wake Tera Raid Battle event in Pokemon Scarlet

Pokemon Scarlet players can face level 75 Walking Wake in the latest Tera Raid Battle event. It’s a Water Tera Type Paradox Pokemon that knows Hydro Steam (Water), Dragon Pulse (Dragon), Noble Roar (Normal), and Flamethrower (Fire). It’ll use Sunny Day at the start of the battle, which will activate its ability, Protosynthesis.

You don’t need to be picky with your counters here and you should stick with Pokemon that can exploit Walking Wake’s weaknesses. Since it’s a Water-type, you could rely on Grass-type Pokemon, but we don’t recommend it since the Paradox Pokemon knows Flamethrower. Instead, Electrict-types are your safest bet here.

Iron Hands, Bellibolt, or a recently caught Unrivaled Pikachu are good counters to end this Raid quickly.

How to beat Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battle event in Pokemon Violet

The Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battle event in Pokemon Violet can be a little harder, but you should be fine as long as you keep a few things in mind. Iron Leaves is a level 75 Psychic Tera Type that knows Psyblade (Psychic), Leaf Blade (Grass), Megahorn (Bug), and Swords Dance (Normal). It’ll start the battle with Electric Terrain and activate its ability Quark Drive.

You can rely on basic counters like Bug and Ghost-type Pokemon, but be careful with Dark-types since they’ll be weak against Megahorn. Iron Leaves will use Swords Dance any chance it gets, so you might want to consider using a Pokemon with Clear Smog, Haze, or Chilling Water to debuff its power.

Ghost-type Pokemon are probably your safest bet here. Gholdengo can be a great ally thanks to its dual Ghost and Steel-typing, just like Ghost and Fire-type Ceruledge. If you picked Fuecoco as your starter, the Fire and Ghost-type Skeledirge can also work thanks to its many resistances to Iron Leaves’ attacks.

Now you’re more than ready to tackle the Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battle event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
