NICKMERCS quits Warzone tournaments, calling out cheating pros

Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff talked about competitive Warzone tournaments in a recent stream and announced that he has no interest in participating again until the cheaters have been dealt with.

Cheaters can be found in many multiplayer games, and Call of Duty: Warzone also has its fair share. There are various players who make use of aimbots, hacking, and other unfair tactics during play sessions.

Many players have their gripes on this, especially when it happens during competitive settings. Popular streamer NICKMERCS has now given his opinion on the matter and made it clear that he’s finally done participating in Warzone tournaments.

NICKMERCS discussed competitive Warzone during his January 20 stream. He stated that cheaters have been employing insane methods of hacking during tournaments, and it has turned him off from playing.

“Now, they’re doing s**t, they’ve been doing s**t, that’s even more crazy than that, I mean dude there’s routers at play… there’s all kinds of hacks.”

He further elaborated that there’s no point in playing in tournaments if there’s no way to verify that people will play fairly. “There’s no pride in this thing anymore man, where’s the dignity? Where’s the honor system.”

NICKMERCS had also previously called out players cheating at Warzone tournaments, and SBMM tracking early on in January. This time he made comparisons to Fortnite, making it clear that cheating is an inevitability when there’s money on the table.

“I told you guys, I told all of you, this is the natural evolution of these games,” he said. “The same s**t happened in Fortnite.”

He further elaborated that unless the developers come up with some kind of solution, he will not be returning to the competitions: “you can be apart of it, I’m not, I’m not unless there’s some extra incentive for me to play a tournament, I’m not playing.”

His reaction to this whole situation is completely understandable. The high amount of cheaters in competitive tournaments removes any chance of the participants getting a fair game out of the experience.

Hopefully, we’ll see some new anti-cheat measurers become implemented by the developers, and the tournament organizers will enforce stricter rules for all participants. Presently, Call of Duty: Warzone’s tournaments are in a bad state.

It remains to be seen what will become of Warzone, and how these exploiters will be dealt with. Once something new develops, we’ll be sure to update you.
