NICKMERCS explains why the M16 is Warzone’s new meta weapon

Since the AUG was nerfed in Warzone Season 2, players have been searching for the next meta weapon to dominate Verdansk. Streamer Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff believes he has found it with the M16.

Several metas have come and gone over the course of Warzone’s lifecycle, with the Grau and Kilo 141 metas now remembered fondly, while some players are still reeling from Season 1’s DMR. Season 2 buffed the AUG’s bullet velocity, causing it to become an unstoppable beast, dominating all engagements.

After the mid-Season 2 update, devs realized the AUG was too powerful and attempted to tame it by increasing its recoil. While that may have worked, it seems it has only served to promote a new gun into its place, with streamer NICKMERCS stating that the M16 has now taken top spot.

Discussing the M16, NICKMERCS said that “it’s going to be the best gun, it’s going to be the gun everybody uses in tournaments and wagers.”

“If the AUG got nerfed, the M16 will be the gun,” Nick says he predicted. “Well, the AUG did get nerfed.” NICKMERCS then went on to explain the problem with the AUGs new recoil, in that “you can’t take people off a headglitch anymore.”

“Don’t get me wrong, the AUG is still usable,” he explained. “But it’s not going to hit and have the control the M16 has, and to be honest, they both hit the same way. So if you haven’t seen the switch, or the transition yet, trust me, you will. Everyone’s going over to the M16, you don’t want to be late.”

NICKMERCS Warzone Season 2 meta M16 class

Nick revealed his M16 loadout that’s built with the “perfect attachments that everyone’s using.”

  • Muzzle: Agency Silencer
  • Barrel: 15.9″ Strike Team
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 45 Rnd Mag

Pair this M16 with an FFAR 1 or a MAC-10, and you’ll be running a class that will dominate Warzone Season 2 at any range.

Nick explained that he believes “the burst meta, sadly, is still going to be around for much longer,” so it’s well worth using and getting to grips with this over-powered M16 class.
