Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 dataminer hints iconic CoD Sniper coming soon
Modern Warfare 2 leaks are beginning to hint at upcoming seasonal content and it seems that players could be set to receive the fan-favorite Intervention Sniper Rifle. Let’s take a look at the rumors surrounding the classic weapon, along with other teased guns.
There are few weapons as synonymous with the Call of Duty franchise as the Intervention Sniper Rifle. The Intervention debuted in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 and has since remained one of the most popular weapons in the entire franchise.
Prior to the launch of Modern Warfare 2 2022, CoD fans were hoping that the Intervention would be included in the list of available weapons. While they were disappointed to find the Sniper missing, their fortunes could be set to change as leaks hint at the arrival of the Intervention.
Data mined info has revealed some of the content that is in the works for upcoming seasons of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Not only did leaks reveal that popular game modes could be returning, but fan-favorite weapons could also be on the way.
MW2 & Warzone 2 Intervention leaked
As previously mentioned, one of these fan-favorite weapons seems to be the Intervention. At the moment there’s no indication of when the Intervention could make its way to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
However, there’s no doubt that players will keep their eyes peeled in Modern Warfare 2 Season 3. The Intervention would feel right at home in Modern Warfare 2 and could prove to be a fantastic option in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play.
CoD fans looking to relive the glory days of quickscoping will be hoping that the leaks turn out to be true.
That’s not all, as the dataminer revealed information concerning a few other classic weapons that could arrive.
Amongst the list provided in the Reddit post above, longtime Call of Duty players will recognize the Tec-9, Springfield, and WA2000.
The Reddit post references Season 3 to Season 5, which suggests that Modern Warfare 2 could only receive three more seasons of content. Keep in mind these are just leaks at the moment, but we’ll let you know once confirmation arrives.
Players in the replies wasted no time celebrating the possible addition of the classic Sniper Rifle: “Intervention lesss go.”
While the majority of players were pleased to see the return of some fan-favorite weapons, others hoped that the devs still had some surprises in store.
“RIP the G36, SG 550, L85, FAL, FA-MAS, and so on. No UMP, no F2000, not even the FAL when we finally have a Battle Rifle category?”
