While normally the Tactical Sprint movement mechanic only works for a short amount of time, a simple trick in the Modern Warfare 2 beta gives it unlimited uses.

The multiplayer beta has given Modern Warfare 2 players on both PC and consoles the opportunity to test out their skills in the game’s modes ahead of its official release on October 28.

There are a variety of movement mechanics that you can use to your advantage in combat, including Tactical Sprint. Now, players have learned how to exploit this mechanic in the open beta.

Tactical Sprint allows you to run faster so that you can maneuver across the map or make a quick getaway. This only works for a limited amount of time and you have to wait for your stamina to recharge before you can use it again.

However, Call of Duty pro and coach James ‘Crowder’ Crowder revealed on Twitter that bunny hopping skips this wait time, and players can repeat this process to have unlimited Tactical Sprint in Modern Warfare 2.

Bunny hopping has been a common combat tactic in numerous multiplayer titles as it makes it difficult for enemies to hit players. This new trick has made it even more beneficial in the Modern Warfare 2 beta.

Players utilizing unlimited Tactical Sprint can get across the map extremely fast, making it tough for enemies to take them down. Since it defeats the purpose of the mechanic’s cooldown timer, this is a game-breaking trick.

At the time of writing, it remains to be seen exactly how Infinity Ward will respond to this mechanic. If it’s patched up ahead of the game’s official release then we’ll be sure to let you know.
