The Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 devs often add new features that evade the patch notes, which is why players were surprised and pleased to discover the addition of a helpful secret feature in Season 3.

Modern Warfare 2 fans have long since complained about the lack of features in the game. However, with each update, the devs are dedicated to improving the state of the game with new features like the recently teased match rejoin feature for Warzone 2.

The Season 3 Reloaded update is set to arrive on May 10 and the devs have already started to reveal the major changes that players can expect across both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

Luckily for players, it seems one of the anticipated changes has arrived early, much to the shock and delight of Modern Warfare 2 players. As ybfelix pointed out on the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit, it seems as though, “an oxygen meter” was “recently patched into the multiplayer UI.”

This is one of the HUD changes that the devs teased in the Season 3 Reloaded update, but it arrived in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 early. This change caught players off guard as it wasn’t featured in any of the recent patch notes.

Nonetheless, the initial reaction to the oxygen meter feature is resoundingly positive. One player in the comments had this to say: “Going to be helpful when swimming under water now.”

Several players agreed that the new oxygen meter feature in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is a “helpful” addition.

Swimming is a major factor in Warzone 2, but it’s also extremely important in Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play. The Zarqwa Hydroelectric map features a ton of water where players dive in and take routes to dominate Hardpoint.

With the new oxygen meter, it should be much easier to know exactly how much time you have left on your dive, before needing to resurface. Previously, players would have to rely on audio queues from their gasping Operator.
