Modern Warfare 2 players are expressing disappointment after Infinity Ward revealed the Season 1 roadmap.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 1‘s announcement gave players an idea of what to expect for the first season of MW2 and also Warzone 2.

While a lot of excitement surrounds Warzone 2 at the moment, which is also set to bring the highly-anticipated DMZ mode, Call of Duty multiplayer enjoyers are still concerned with the new weapons and maps coming to the game.

Many haven’t been happy with the amount of content Modern Warfare 2 provided at launch, and while the Combat Record feature and a new Prestige system are set to be released with Season 1, the community is still dissatisfied.

Players continue to be furious with the amount of content, turning their attention to the Season 1 update, more specifically the return of Shoot House and Shipment being the two new maps for the entirety of Season 1.

Reddit user ForwardLychee1415 posted their discontent with the Season 1 maps, sarcastically writing “Bought MW2 for its multiplayer? Here you go this should keep you going until season 2, don’t mention it btw!”

The two new maps have previously appeared in Modern Warfare 2019, and Shipment has returned now on numerous occasions, arriving “in-season” for MW2.

Despite players loving these maps in the past, it seems the OP isn’t the only one who feels disappoitned. One of the comments under the post reads “ah yes, the same 2 maps that have had the 24/7 playlists on MW2019 for the last 3 years, a breath of fresh air!”

While the inclusion of these two smaller multiplayer maps may help players get some camo challenges done quicker, it does seem that the community wants new maps or at least classics that haven’t been remade before:

“Yeah, no new maps I guess? Just remasters of small maps. Could have at least thrown in a medium sized map like Favela.”

Of course, this is only the first season of Modern Warfare 2, so we are likely going to see a lot of new and reimagined maps make their way to the game, especially since MW2 is set to run for two years.
