Modern Warfare 2 has also caught the Harry Potter and Hogwarts Legacy bug as fans of the CoD shooter have stumbled across an interesting Easter Egg.

Whereas Modern Warfare 2 was one of 2022’s biggest releases, the beginning of 2023 is already awaiting the monumental release of Hogwarts Legacy – a fully-realized RPG set in the Harry Potter universe.

Amongst all the controversy that Hogwarts Legacy is generating, there is plenty to be excited about. Whereas Modern Warfare 2 is moving along nicely with the delayed Season 2 content set to add a bunch of new modes, maps, and more to the game.

Now, both franchises have come together to share a unique little secret with Modern Warfare 2 players noticing a tribute to the Harry Potter series in the FPS game.

JarlOfRivia pointed out to Modern Warfare 2 players on the game’s subreddit page that “Nova has a Harry Potter tattoo.”

Real-name Nila Brown, Nova is one of Modern Warfare 2’s Operators and she apparently makes no secret about her love for the wizarding world.

In JarlOfRivia’s post, they shared an image of Nova’s arm, and in it, you can quite clearly see the Death Hallows symbol on her left arm near the elbow at the back.

If you’re not savvy about the Harry Potter world, the Deathly Hallows represents the final two books/films in the official Harry Potter line of media.

There has definitely been next-to-no fuss about this Easter Egg, so it seems like it’s gone under the radar since the game’s launch, or it’s maybe been added without players realizing.

Commenters suggested that the devs may end up having to cut the content if it breaches copyright laws, just like the Museum map and Hotel Breenbergh flirted with.

However, one user shut this down: “I’m fairly certain that the Deathly Hallows logo doesn’t meet the threshold of originality for copyright protection so there shouldn’t be any problem using it in game. After all, it’s a circle inside a triangle…Meaning for the figure was given by JK, but that doesn’t assert any rights to it.”

It remains to be seen if the Easter Egg stays in the game, but for the time being at least CoD and Hogwarts Legacy fans can bond over this inclusion.
