It seems the reveal of Counter-Strike 2 has resulted in frustration for Call of Duty fans who are desperate to see CSGO 2 features arrive in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

Valve put an end to rumors concerning the next CSGO title as they announced that Counter-Strike 2 is arriving during the Summer of 2023. FPS fans were elated with the news and it looks like the franchise is going to maintain its status as one of the most popular and successful video games in the world following the release of CSGO 2.

The devs revealed some of the new changes and updates they plan on introducing to the franchise. Following the announcement, Counter-Strike 2 fans were already marveling at the prospect of the map updates, smoke changes, and sub-tick servers.

It seems Counter-Strike players weren’t the only ones in awe of the new features as Call of Duty fans took to Reddit to discuss the reveal.

As you may have already guessed, those players compared the new features in Counter-Strike 2 to the lack of said features in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

They expressed disappointment with the lack of “major” features that they feel should be a standard part of the modern Call of Duty experience.

Following the announcement of sub-tick servers in CSGO 2, the OP of the above post requested that MW2 fans stop making excuses for the “sh**t network in CoD.”

To put it simply, sub-tick servers refer to eliminating the tick rates between actions that a player takes in-game. These types of servers are capable of smoothly and quickly taking in players’ movements.

Ultimately, this results in high-quality online gaming, where your input results in instantaneous action on the screen, leading to a highly responsive experience.

One look at the comments, and it’s easy to see that CoD fans believe that there’s massive room for improvement when it comes to Call of Duty servers.

Here’s what one player had to say about CoD’s lackluster servers: “It really is a shame that connection isn’t a higher priority. It’s the most important aspect of an online game and yet, Activision and IW just refuse to fix their sh**t.”

A player pointed out that improving the server and connection quality in Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2 is a solvable issue, and not at all exclusive to Valve. To which another player responded, “What you’re forgetting is Valve gives a f**k.”

While most focused on the server announcement, other CoD fans praised Counter-Strike 2’s new smoke mechanics: “That cs2 smoke is so good, I want that asap.”

While it’s unlikely that any major server changes such as the ones mentioned above arrive during Modern Warfare 2’s cycle, there’s always hope that CoD 2023 will include said improvements.
