While enjoying the Modern Warfare 2 beta, one player was surprised to suddenly find themselves in the Warzone 2 menus that should have been locked, revealing some new details.

Thousands of players have been enjoying the Modern Warfare 2 beta, giving them their first taste of the next CoD installment ahead of the release date on October 28.

There are plenty of new features for fans to dive into, from the revamped Perk system to Gunsmith 2.0, drastically changing the way loadouts are built. But one thing that no one was expected to see in the beta was Warzone 2.

However, one player suddenly found themselves in the Warzone 2 menus, and gave us a few small insights into the battle royale sequel.

Reddit user Sybrun posted a screenshot showing that he had been “thrown” into the Warzone 2 private match screen. It’s unclear exactly how they wound up there, as the Warzone 2 section of beta menus had been gated off for most players.

Although they couldn’t drop into an actual game, this does appear to confirm that private matches will be returning in Warzone 2, letting friends host their own games away from the usual competitive lobbies.

Sadly, it didn’t give any hints on whether or not the minimum player counts from the original Warzone would return, which forced players to find a lobby of well over 20 players before the game could be started.

Another player had experienced a similar glitch, and they found even more options hiding in the menus. “If you scroll down with L2 you can see Warzone Trios, Plunder, and ‘Alternate Mode.’ Unfortunately, the servers aren’t running,” said bootz-pgh.

Eagle-eyed fans also noticed the background of the Warzone 2 menus confirmed the return of some popular characters. The Operator standing at the front is Nikto from the original Warzone, with what appears to be Modern Warfare 2’s Ghost on his left.

As the beta opens up to more players in the coming weeks, we’ll have to wait and see if any more Warzone 2 details will be discovered. Luckily, with the sequel set to arrive on November 16, there it won’t be long before we finally get to see it in action.
