Black Ops Cold War’s burst weapons dominated Warzone back in Verdansk but heavy nerfs knocked them out of the meta. In Season 4, however, Warzone expert JGOD has explained how his buffed AUG loadout could bring back the burst meta.

Many weapons have dominated Warzone’s meta since its release in March 2020, but few took over as convincingly as Black Ops Cold War’s burst-fire weapons. The AUG and M16 were eventually nerfed and fell into obscurity, but that could all change with Warzone Pacific Season 4.

The AUG received a major buff in the Warzone Pacific Season 4 update, and YouTuber JGOD has provided the best loadout that could bring the burst meta to Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep.

AUG Tactical Rifle in CoD Warzone

Both the AUG’s maximum and minimum damage was increased, allowing the Warzone Tactical Rifle to have a much faster time to kill. Typically, you’ll be able to get a kill within three bursts which gives the AUG an impressive 884ms time to kill, which can be lowered to only 567ms (two bursts) if you manage to hit four neck shots or two headshots.

JGOD explained that taking fights at short to medium range will increase the chance of landing these critical shots, making the AUG especially powerful in Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep.

But it’s not just the AUG that’s bringing the burst meta back to Warzone. The UGM-8 LMG’s Romauld 560mm DA barrel turns it burst fire, where you can simply hold the trigger and it’ll keep firing burst after burst. While not as powerful as the AUG, it’s the better choice for Caldera’s long-range fights.

  • Muzzle: Agency Silencer
  • Barrel: 17″ Titanium
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Magazine: 45 Rnd Drum

JGOD’s AUG loadout is the classic build, using the Agency Silencer to increase its range and hide your shots, the Axial Arms 3x for a cleaner sight picture, the Field Agent Foregrip for recoil control, and the 45 Round Drum for extra bullets.

He explained that the 17″ Titanium barrel is the best option because it will reduce the time between bursts, and the popular 19.8″ Task Force isn’t worth using because even though it gives faster bullet velocity, you won’t be challenging players at a distance where you’ll notice the difference.

Take JGOD’s AUG loadout into either Fortune’s Keep or Rebirth Island and you’ll get a taste of the burst meta in its prime.
