Call of Duty expert JGOD has praised the reveal of Creative 2.0 mode in Fortnite and explained why this puts Activision’s first-person shooter franchise at a serious disadvantage.

Fortnite has received the new Creative 2.0 mode that grants players limitless opportunities to bring their own creative designs to life through the use of the Unreal Editor.

This has greatly impressed content creator JGOD who feels that the arrival of the Creative 2.0 mode is going to cause Call of Duty titles like Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 to fall behind as Fortnite becomes more popular.

After watching the Fortnite Creative 2.0 reveal, JGOD explained: “This just shows how far Activision and all the studios are behind on this stuff because it creates a huge opportunity to allow your creators to be creative and make their own content.”

Creative 2.0 can teach players details that are relevant to game development, such as coding and how to build assets. JGOD believes that as time passes, players will be able to put out “more insane” content thanks to this feature.

JGOD stated: “CoD has always been a little bit behind [Fortnite], and now that gap has gotten significantly wider.” He described Fortnite as a “giant juggernaut” and requested Activision to “step up and compete” in order to avoid falling to the wayside.

He also believes that Creative 2.0 helps with collaboration, as content creators will be able to work with others in the community when creating designs. They can even hire others to create the game that they want to play.

JGOD believes that Fortnite is going to be “taking away players, creators, and most importantly revenue from Activision.” So, he feels that major changes will be needed in order for the Call of Duty series to compete with the franchise.

He feels that one way to do this is to keep adding content to Call of Duty titles without removing what’s already there, which is something that players have requested. It remains to be seen how Activision will respond to this.
