Analytical Call of Duty personality JGOD has revealed his thoughts on Battlefield 2042 so far, citing reasons as to why it has some ground to make up already.

Battlefield 2042 is properly out in the open now. Not only have we had the game’s dramatic reveal trailer, but we’ve now seen its gameplay up-close and personal. The footage has prompted CoD personality JGOD to cast his judgment on the gameplay and see how it compares to Call of Duty.

Usually known for his deep look at CoD’s weapons, their stats, hidden stats, and much more, JGOD also regularly plays Call of Duty. Battlefield 2042 is expected to be a direct competition to the Call of Duty battle royale, and JGOD has explained why he thinks it’s not there yet.

Sitting down and evaluating the Battlefield gameplay, JGOD said, “the grapple hook is pretty sick,” and frequently complimented the game’s “size and scale.”

The grappling hook has garnered many positive reactions, with Warzone fans desperate to see something similar added to Warzone.

JGOD was also receptive of the ability to change your gun’s loadout on the fly, saying, “this is probably one of the coolest features, and I think would be sick if CoD adopted.”

But throughout the analysis of the gameplay trailer, JGOD mentioned that Battlefield places a far greater emphasis on vehicular combat than Call of Duty.

As the video drew to a close, JGOD offered his thoughts on Battlefield’s potential: “I still think they got a long way to go to convince me that this is gonna be the CoD killer. I don’t see it from this. People are like “this is going to kill Warzone,” even if Warzone continues to have tons of hackers, I don’t see this killing it. Because this isn’t free-to-play.”

He believes that unless Battlefield launches a free battle royale mode soon after launch, it will be difficult to compete with Warzone, Fortnite, and even Halo Infinite’s free online multiplayer.
