Call of Duty: Vanguard
JackFrags explains the “nightmare” problem Warzone’s Vanguard integration could bring
Warzone’s huge arsenal could be about to get bigger when Vanguard’s weapons arrive, and YouTuber JackFrags think this could be a major issue.
YouTuber Jack ‘JackFrags’ Mason has explained why Vanguard’s guns joining Warzone’s huge arsenal could cause major issues for the battle royale’s weapon balance.
Call of Duty: Warzone now has well over a hundred weapons from Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War, and now Vanguard’s weapons will be joining the mix. With Cold War also expected to get more content, Warzone’s weapon pool will soon be ginormous.
YouTuber JackFrags believes this could cause a “nightmare” for Warzone in the future, with there being too many weapons for devs to balance. However, he explained that it’s content people have paid for, so he weighed up the pros and cons.
Although excited about Vanguard’s new map and anti-cheat, JackFrags explained that he thought the Warzone’s potential “biggest issue” is the guns and loadouts. He asks, “when this new Pacific map launches for Warzone … is it going to let you play with all of the weapons? This will be insane if they do this.
“All of the Modern Warfare guns, all of the secondaries, launchers, melee weapons; all the Cold War guns, again, SMGs, Shotguns, melee weapons, secondaries launchers… And then, in addition to that, all of the base game Call of Duty: Vanguard guns. That’s a lot of guns!”
Although JackFrags thinks it would be “crazy” if they keep all of the weapons, he believes they will. He explained that one of the main reasons they’ll let you just play with everything “is the fact that people have spent so much money and time into unlocking Blueprints, Operator skins, for Warzone. And they’ve become attached to that.”

JackFrags said that Call of Duty devs “are in a bit of a pickle here” because if they include everything, “that causes a nightmare for balance, game size, it’s just going to get bigger and bigger, and the logic of the game just becomes more and more intense and elaborate.”
Although he loves that they’re “bridging the gap between every Call of Duty game,” he thinks the devs might have “rammed themselves into a corner here with Warzone.”
He believes that there may come a point where the devs have to go “enough is enough, it’s too big, it’s too complex, we can’t balance it anymore” and strip back the weapon pool. However, he doesn’t think it’ll come with Vanguard, mainly because of the popularity of modern weaponry.
