Will Star Wars Jedi: Survivor be on Steam Deck?
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to be one of the biggest games of the year, but will Steam Deck owners have the chance to experience the adventure on their handled console?
Back in 2019, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order became an instant success and was regarded as one of the best Star Wars games of all time. It’s no surprise then that the devs are following it up quickly with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
The sequel picks up five years after the original, and looks to expand on the gameplay with new features like fast travel and Meditation Chambers.
With so much to look forward to in the new game, Steam Deck players will be wondering if Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming to the platform. Here’s everything you need to know about Star Wars Jedi: Jedi Survivor on Steam Deck.
Is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor coming to Steam Deck?
As it currently stands, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will not be on Steam Deck when it launches on April 28. While the game will be available on Steam from day one, according to the official EA website, there will be “no dedicated support” for the portable console.
This doesn’t rule out the possibility of a Steam Deck port coming post-launch, but fans have been skeptical about how likely this will be.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be even bigger than the original. Ever since the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC requirements were revealed, players have questioned whether or not bringing the game to Steam Deck will be viable. This is based on the 130 GB of storage it will require, as well as the huge GPU requirements.
Players can still try and run Star Wars Jedi: Survivor when it arrives, but based on the hefty specs needed it’s unlikely to function well, if at all.
There is good news, though, as while many games don’t launch with full Steam Deck compatibility at the same time as PC and console, it’s not unusual for them to receive support later down the line.
Only time will tell if Respawn Entertainment release a Steam Deck-compatible version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor later down the line. We’ll be sure to update this section with all the latest details.
