Rocket League is one of the most popular games in the world, but can you play with your friends? Here’s everything you need to know about Rocket League’s crossplay status, including how to play with other platforms.

Rocket League is a fairly simple concept. Take the world’s most popular game in soccer, mash it with cars fitted with rocket thrusters, and you create one of the world’s most popular games.

Whether you enjoy messing around with your friends or prefer to take part in the more competitive aspects of the game, Rocket League has something for everyone.

With that in mind, many players want to know whether they can play with their friends on other consoles. Here’s everything you need to know about cross-play in Rocket League.

Does Rocket League have cross-play?

Yes, Rocket League does have cross-platform play across PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

This means that you can party up with your teammates regardless of their preferred platform, and as most players use controllers on Rocket League, you won’t find yourself at a disadvantage when competing.

It also doesn’t matter if you use Steam or Epic Games on PC, as Rocket League supports cross-play regardless of your preferred launcher.

How to enable cross-play in Rocket League

When Psyonix introduced cross-play to the game, they made sure that this setting was on by default, so there’s a good chance you’re already able to play with friends regardless of platform.

If you turned it off at any point or did so by mistake, turning it back on is easy.

  1. Open Rocket League and go to the main menu.
  2. Scroll down to ‘Options.’
  3. Move to the ‘Gameplay’ tab.
  4. Look for the ‘Cross-Platform Play’ box and toggle it on.
