Modern Warfare 2 players are eager to try out new game modes while they wait for the previously announced Ranked Play to arrive. CDL Moshpit has made the wait less painful but sometimes players just want to kick back with some party mode chaos.
While Modern Warfare 2 launched with a classic set of multiplayer modes, party modes that players have come to enjoy over the years were notably absent. This has led players to question if modes like Gun Game could be coming to Modern Warfare 2.

Is Gun Game coming to Modern Warfare 2?
According to the devs, Gun Game is coming to Modern Warfare 2 with the Season 2 update.
Previously, the devs announced that Infected would arrive with the Season 2 update. Shortly after, Modern Warfare 2 players got the news they’d been waiting for with the confirmation of Gun Game.
You can expect the Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update to deliver Ranked Play, Hardcore, Gun Game, and Infected.
Is there a Gun Game release date for Modern Warfare 2?
Gun Game will hit Modern Warfare 2 on February 15, 2023. Luckily for players, there’ll be no waiting around for Gun Game to arrive. The party mode will debut on day one of Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.
What is Gun Game in Modern Warfare 2?
Gun Game is a free-for-all mode where each kill puts a different weapon in your hands. The aim is to cycle through the preset selection of weapons first and win the game.
Getting a kill with a weapon will advance you to the next weapon in the rotation. Melee kills will set the opposing player back to the previous weapon, so you’ll want to be wary of getting stabbed in the back.
Given that the amount of kills needed is usually between 18 and 24, these chaotic games are short and sweet. The Gun Game party mode debuted in Call of Duty: Black Ops and the formula has not been altered over the years, which makes it a Call of Duty classic.
