Is Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox Game Pass?

GTA 5 is the most profitable individual entertainment product ever, but some gamers still haven’t found the time to play it yet. Xbox Game Pass allows big games to be played for free, but is GTA V one of them?

Xbox Game Pass, like PlayStation Now, allows players to pay an inexpensive monthly fee in exchange for the chance to play a whole host of games. The service currently offers over 300 games as part of the service for players to play as part of the membership.

On the other hand, Grand Theft Auto V is a massive, open-world RPG that has captured the hearts of over 140 million people since its release in 2012. Its legacy is set to be continued onto a third generation of console, and it will keep players ticking over until GTA 6 is eventually announced.

Can you get GTA V on Xbox Game Pass?

As of August 10, 2021, you can no longer access GTA V as part of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass scheme.

The game was removed from Xbox Game Pass on August 8, 2021, and carries on the on-off availability of the game on the service.

Why is GTA V no longer on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass?

It’s more than likely that the Enhanced and Expanded Remaster of GTA V has had a huge bearing on this decision.

With Rockstar’s newest port of GTA on the horizon, they presumably don’t want people playing it for free ahead of its rerelease.

As time goes on, it’s likely that either GTA V or the GTA V: Enhanced and Expanded edition will come to Xbox Game Pass for players to gain for free once more.
