Epic Games responded to fan complaints about the black and white superhero skins by issuing a fix for them in the v15.30 update, but there’s still a way to make use of the Fortnite exploit after the patch.

Some Fortnite players had been complaining about the game’s “pay-to-win” superhero skin. A completely customizable cosmetic items, many had been using it’s color-changing capabilities to make it completely black, then hiding in dark corners to surprise enemies.

Epic Games confirmed that they intended to fix the issue in v15.30, and now that the update is here, we can see the changes that they’ve made. The lighting has been changed around the map, but there’s still a way to still turn the skin all black or all white.

Rather than removing the skin from the game, Epic Games instead focused on the lighting around the island, hoping that eliminating dark corners would fix this issue. On top of that, they also made it more difficult to make the skin all-black, in a final effort to squash this problem.

However, one fan was able to come up with a workaround for this obstacle. Twitter user GlitchKing15 explained how players can trick the game into letting you use the all black and white superhero skins. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Equip the Custom Superhero skin
  2. Select “Edit Style”
  3. Tab over to “Primary Suit Style”
  4. Select either Black or White
  5. Tab over to “Secondary Suit Style”
  6. Select the incredibly dark blue color at the end of the list
  7. Select “Save and Exit”
  8. Select “Edit Style” once again
  9. Tab over to “Secondary Suit Style”
  10. Select the Black or White color that has the “exclamation” sign over it.
  11. Tab back over to “Primary Suit Style” and repeat step 10.
  12. Select “Save and Exit” once more

That covers everything you need to do in order to make the skins all black or all white, and you can take a look at Glitch King’s process in their video.

This method is definitely long and complicated since you’ll have switch between different screens in order to get it done, but it’s still proven successful. It’s only a matter of time until Epic Games take notice of this, and will nerf the skin even further.

Until that happens, however, you can still enjoy this, and try to blend in with your environment to hide from other players.
