Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players can unlock and master a brand-new Sniper Rifle with the Season 1 update, the Victus XMR. Here’s how to unlock the Victus XMR in both Call of Duty games.

Sniping is one of Call of Duty’s most deadly playstyles, going all the way back to quickscoping in CoD 4. It became even more popular with Warzone, where taking fights at long range was one of the most consistent and risk-free ways to win.

Modern Warfare 2 brings a powerful selection of Snipers to Warzone 2 on November 16, including the brand-new Victus XMR Sniper Rifle. This new bolt-action rifle is sure to be one of the best choices for long-range sniping, so here’s how to unlock the Victus XMR in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s Victus XMR Sniper Rifle will be available for free with the Season 1 Battle Pass and can be unlocked within Sector A7.

This will take players 15 Battle Token Tier Skips if they aim to unlock this Sector straight after the first.

The devs describe the weapon as a hard-hitting “bolt action sniper rifle with .50 cal BMG ammunition,” using “tungsten sabot tipped bullets” that are “fast and powerful, but require precise shots over long distances.”

The Victus XMR arrives in the Imperatorium Platform, and unlike the other three weapons (BAS-P, M13B, and Chimera), it’s in a Platform on its own. However, new weapons may be added to the platform with later updates.

Season 1’s new Sniper Rifle is expected to be a powerful choice in both multiplayer and Warzone, and it’ll even bring a new scope that makes long-range sniping ridiculously easy.
