How to unlock Thor’s Hammer in Black Ops Cold War Zombies

BOCW Zombies is chock-full of Easter Eggs to discover and now the new Sledgehammer Melee Weapon allows players to harness the power of the ‘God of Thunder.’ Here’s how to unlock Thor’s Hammer in Black Ops Cold War Zombies.

Norse Mythology has seen a revival in pop culture over the past few years. Thor is a central character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the critically acclaimed God of War (2018) had us fighting the Gods of Viking folklore.

You could find Thor’s Hammer as an Easter Egg all the way back in Black Ops 2 but now, Mjölnir can be wielded against the undead in Black Ops Cold War Zombies.

How to unlock Thor’s Hammer

To become worthy of wielding Thor’s Hammer, there are a couple of things you must do in Cold War Zombies. This guide comes courtesy of Call of Duty YouTuber TheGamingRevolution.

You must first have the Sledgehammer Melee Weapon unlocked to complete this Easter Egg. You can either purchase it from the store or you can follow our guide to unlock it for free in-game.

Once you have it unlocked, you need to bring it into Zombies with you.

Pack-A-Punch the Sledgehammer three times and it will be renamed Zjolnir. In Norse mythology, Thor’s Hammer is called Mjölnir, and the Black Ops Cold War equivalent, Zjolnir, is a direct reference to that.

Now, it’s named after the God of Thunder’s weapon, but here’s how to make it act like it too. To have the Sledgehammer do maximum damage, you should upgrade it to Tier 5 so it’s Legendary.

Then, take it back to the Pack-A-Punch machine and equip the Dead Wire ammo mod. Now the Hammer will crackle with electricity and blast Zombies away with thunderous force.

To summarize:

  1. Unlock the Sledgehammer Melee Weapon
  2. Bring the weapon into Cold War Zombies
  3. Pack-A-Punch the Sledgehammer three times
  4. Upgrade the weapon to Tier 5
  5. Equip the Dead Wire ammo mod
  6. Wield the power of Thor!

Thor’s Hammer does the same damage as a fully upgraded knife, which is extremely powerful. You’ll be slightly slower than if carrying the knife, but when you’re blasting Zombies away with the power of Thor, it’s a small price to pay.
