The Ice Axe melee weapon is finally available to unlock in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific and it couldn’t have come at a better time with Season 2 Reloaded ending on April 27.

The Ice Axe melee weapon was announced with the release of Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 2’s roadmap way back in February of 2022. It was expected as a mid-season weapon, but updates came and went during Season 2 Reloaded and the Ice Axe was nowhere to be seen.

With Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 3 arriving on April 27, players had given up on unlocking the frigid melee weapon. Thankfully, the Ice Axe finally made its way to Vanguard a week before the new season arrives, so here’s how you can unlock the weapon.

How to unlock the Ice Axe melee weapon in Vanguard

Diamond Ice Axe Vanguard

Players can unlock the Ice Axe Melee Weapon in Vanguard if they get 3 kills with the Throwing Knife in a single match 15 times. Although the Throwing Knife kills are a simple task, it may take you some time to sift through 15 matches.

If Vanguard multiplayer is not your preferred method of choice, players can also unlock the Ice Axe by playing Zombies. To unlock the weapon by playing Vanguard Zombies, you’ll need to kill 50 Sturmkriegers with a melee weapon.

Unfortunately, the Ice Axe is currently not available in Warzone. If and when the weapon makes its way to the battle royale, we’ll be sure to provide the unlock requirements.

The Ice Axe is one of the most unique melee weapons in Vanguard as it can be launched at opponents from a distance. This added range makes it a deadly weapon in the right hands.
