Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4 added a brand-new slide kick mechanic to the battle royale title, and here’s everything you need to know about how to use this movement tactic.

When you jump into a Fortnite match, you’ll need to keep moving if you want to survive battles with enemy players, and using movement mechanics such as sliding can give you an advantage.

Now, Chapter 3, Season 4 has brought another movement tactic to the game in the form of slide kicking, and we’ll go over how you can perform this maneuver in Fortnite.

How to slide kick in Fortnite

Slide kicking is extremely easy as all you have to do is slide regularly in the direction of an object and make contact with it at the end. This will cause you to automatically kick the object before you stop sliding.

Sliding can be performed by running and pressing the crouch button. Players on PlayStation and Xbox consoles along with the Nintendo Switch just need to hold the right stick down, while PC players must press the CTRL key.

How to dislodge a boulder with a slide kick in Fortnite

One of the Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4 Week 1 Quests tasks players with dislodging the boulder with this mechanic. You must weaken it by damaging it with your pickaxe before slide kicking.

Doing so will send it rolling down, and cause it to hit enemy players in its path. Boulders can be found all over the Fortnite map, and we’ve got all of their locations covered on the map below, courtesy of Fortnite.GG.

You don’t need to visit any specific location for this challenge, so just slide kick any one of these in order to dislodge it. Once that’s done, the Week 1 Fortnite Quest will be marked as complete.
