Here’s how you can play Warzone 2 on a Steam Deck, for those looking to jump into a battle royale game on Valve’s portable device.

Warzone 2 is an extremely popular free-to-play battle royale game that’s available to players across multiple platforms.

There are many ways to play Warzone 2, as not only can players choose to enjoy a multitude of different game modes including Resurgence on Ashika Island and the standard BR with different squad sizes, but players can also choose between controller or mouse and keyboard as their input.

While players have options when it comes to in-game choices like weaponry and the input they use, most players are tied to a system that prevents them from playing on the go.

That said, since the release of the Steam Deck, Valve’s portable gaming device with Steam’s library of games, many have been wondering if it’s possible to play Warzone 2 on the portable system. So, here’s our guide on how to play Warzone on a Steam Deck.

Can you play Warzone 2 on Steam Deck?

Warzone 2 is not officially supported on the Steam Deck, meaning you can’t just download it and play as simply as you can with other games supported by the device.

Luckily, there is a way to get Warzone 2 to run on your Steam Deck, but it will require a bit more work than a simple download from the Steam library.

How to play Warzone 2 on a Steam Deck

Steam runs off of the Linux operating system, which does not support the RICOCHET anti-cheat, so Warzone 2 is unable to run on the Steam Deck natively. However, if you download and install Windows on your Steam Deck, either through dual-booting or by replacing SteamOS with Windows, you will be able to run Warzone 2.

Downloading and installing Windows on your Steam Deck isn’t the most simple of tasks, so we recommend following a guide closely.

After installing Windows on your Steam Deck, it’s as simple as downloading Warzone 2 and playing it just like on a PC, but you may need to upgrade your system’s SSD as the battle royale comes with some heavy GB baggage.
