If you were enthralled by the premiere of The Last of Us television series and have a rising urge to play the video game you’re in luck. PlayStation is allowing players to partake in a two-hour free trial of the Last of Us Part I, so here’s how to play.

Episode one of HBO’s brand-new The Last of Us series aired to rave reviews on Sunday, January 15, 2023. The show is one of the most buzzworthy game adaptations to ever hit the small screen.

The Last of Us is a major video game franchise dating back to 2013, but the show is beginning to captivate a new audience over the course of its first season. Fans of the show who are experiencing the franchise for the first time could hope to give the game a try.

Luckily, PlayStation is offering a two-hour free trial of The Last of Us Part I, and here’s how to play it.

The Last of Us Part I two-hour free trial

The Last of Us Part I is a high-definition remake of the original The Last of Us game that launched way back in 2013. The remake launched on September 2, 2022, and it received the same praise as the original.

The free trial for The Last of Us Part I is only available on the PlayStation 5. You’ll need a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription to access it. Follow these steps to play The Last of Us Part I free trial:

  1. Launch your PlayStation 5.
  2. Make sure you have an active PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.
  3. Head over to the PS Plus section of your PS5, or search manually for The Last of Us Part I.
  4. Select the Game Trial option of the Last of Us Part I.
  5. Hit download and wait for the file to be installed.
  6. Load up The Last of Us Part I and enjoy the two-hour free trial.

You can also download a two-hour free trial of the Last of Us Part I through the PlayStation store website. If you have a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription, you must first head to the product page.

From there, proceed with the Game Trial option and your PS5 will download the trial to your library the next time you turn it on.

The two-hour free trial is an excellent opportunity to test the game before committing to a full purchase for $69.99 USD, $89.99 CAD, or £69.99.
